Somme, France

Pozieres British Cemetery holds 2758 graves of British and Commonwealth soldiers. The Memorial is contained within the cemetery and commemorates over 14,000 casualties of the United Kingdom and 300 of the South African Forces who have no known grave - amongst them are the following

not a real panel as the names are found in different areas of the memorial

The names of the fallen are inscribed on stone tablets around the periphery of the memorial walls, and are grouped under their regiments and then rank

Below the memorial layout showing the panels where the Brimington soldiers names are inscribed

The Soldiers names inscribed on the Memorial

Some names on the memorials are more easily reached and photographed than others. Many of the panels and walls are huge and those names unlucky enough to be close to the top are generally impossible to see clearly.  Fortunately all of the Brimington soldiers on the Pozieres Memorial were close enough to photograph
